Oak wilt is deadly disease that affects all species of oaks found in Minnesota. It is caused by a non-native, invasive fungus. The fungus invades the water-conducting vessels of oaks, eventually killing infected trees.
Emerald ash borer (EAB) is an invasive forest insect from Asia responsible for the deaths of millions of ash trees throughout the eastern half of the U. S. and southeastern Canada. EAB infests and kills weak and healthy ash trees alike, and all species of ash native to North America are vulnerable to EAB attack.
Dutch Elm Disease
Dutch Elm Disease is caused by an invasive fungus and occurs all throughout Minnesota. Dutch Elm Causes wilt and death in all Minnesota native Elms. Elm bark beetles are regularly spread the fungus wile feeding on trees.
